Undergraduate education in the Department of Tourist Guiding at the Faculty of Tourism, Balıkesir University, has been offered as a formal education program since the Fall Semester of the 1998-1999 academic year. As of the Fall Semester of the 2014-2015 academic year, evening education at the undergraduate level has also been provided. Between 2001 and 2005, no students were admitted to the department; however, student admission resumed in the Fall Semester of the 2005-2006 academic year, and education has since continued without interruption. In addition, within the Department of Tourist Guiding, a Master’s Program with Thesis at the graduate level has been offered since the Fall Semester of the 2016-2017 academic year.
