Faculty of Tourism Academics Participated in a TÜBİTAK 4009 Project

Academics from Balıkesir University Faculty of Tourism participated in the project titled “10s Discover: A Journey into Science in the Village,” supported under the TÜBİTAK 4009 Support Program for Village Schools.The project was held on June 9–10, 2026, at Yüreğil Primary School in Sındırgı, Balıkesir, under the coordination of Dr. Okan BAYSAL. Prof. Dr. Özlem KÖROĞLU, Head of the Department of Tourism Guidance, and Research Assistant Beste DEMİR from the Faculty of Tourism also took part in the project.As part of the project, students participated in activities focusing on scientific thinking, cultural heritage, nature, art, breakfast habits, and sustainability. Representing the Faculty of Tourism, Prof. Dr. Özlem KÖROĞLU contributed to the project through activities aimed at helping students discover the cultural values of Balıkesir. Research Assistant Beste DEMİR served as a project guide throughout the implementation process.We would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to the successful implementation of the project.
